If you want to learn how to manage a team, this Certificate gives you both theory and practical tools and techniques.

Programme Overview
Our Management Bites Certificate is a 6 month programme focused on building your practical, tactical people management skills and experience. Over the course you complete online learning modules with on the job assignments and get personal feedback from our marking team.
The programme also involves assessing your achievement level from the start to the finish.

The materials are based on the best-selling book Management Bites, by Elephant Group co-founder Angela Atkins.
Angela wrote the book when she couldn’t find a book that dealt with the real world, not just theories. She based the tools and techniques she’d seen work with the hundreds of managers she’d worked with in her HR career, and her own experience managing a team. First published in 2009, the third edition came out in 2024. For more click here.
Who should register for the Certificate?
You’ll benefit most from the Management Bites Certificate if you are in a role where you currently manage a team, or if you’re wanting to move into people management, but have some supervisory responsibilities. Or you may have a lot of management experience, but have never done any formal training! Of the thousands of managers who have completed Management Bites training, even the senior leaders and CEO’s who have attended, said they’ve got some great new tips and techniques to use.
What will you finish with?
The Management Bites Certificate is different from tertiary study as you need to be working in a role where you can apply what you’re learning, rather than covering theory. You’ll work through case studies and try things out so that you get as much experience as you can during the course. Once you’ve completed your final assessment you will be awarded your certificate.
Elephant Certificates are now recognised globally, in New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, the US and United Kingdom.

What our graduates say:

Thinking about what I’ve learned in this course, I feel excited about the ways I’ve helped my team and improved my work. This course has reinforced me that learning new things is good for me and helps me make positive changes on a personal and professional level, there is always room for me to keep learning. During the certificate I’ve been reminded how important is to have a mindset that is open to growing and how feedback is an important part of that process.
The feedback was really helpful. It was really in depth and you could tell that the markers had put a lot of time into reading each assignment and going through every answer when marking. I appreciated that even when you had gotten an answer correct, feedback would still be provided so you could reflect on your answer and then also think about other possible answers. This made reading through the marked assignments a lesson in itself as the markers would provide further guidance and knowledge on each subject through their feedback.
The information provided was just so informative and then being able to actually apply that knowledge through the case studies is just fantastic and really helped to bed in the information. In addition, I have gone back to the information many times already to make sure I am on the right track.
