We know working in payroll takes skill and knowledge, and since 2015, we’ve been working to provide payroll people with practical, fun and informative training to help you develop your skills. While payroll is serious business, there’s no reason you can’t have a little fun learning! And our training is output focused so you get real tools and techniques to use.
Elephant co-founder Angela Atkins, and Payroll superstar Anna Sefuiva (who helped launch our payroll development programmes), spent time plotting out the different career paths in payroll, and what skills and knowledge you’ll need for each.
Based on this, we’ve split our training into the following:
For those newer to Payroll, our Certificate in Payroll Fundamentals is a 6 month programme. Each modules focuses on giving you a grounding in key areas of employment law with discussions on the payroll processing issues that can occur. At the end you’ll understand all the legislation that sits behind processing a pay run and what great payroll looks like. Investment: $995. 10% off NFP’s.
For those who are in a sole charge operations support role, or responsible for both HR and payroll, this Certificate is an 8 month programme. It covers the key employment law and payroll legislation, as well as policies and procedures to put in place to ensure your HR and payroll processes run smoothly, and you support your managers effectively. Investment: $1450. 10% off NFP’s.
Our Certificate in Payroll Operations is a 12 month programme focused on building your practical, tactical skills and experience in all the fundamental areas of payroll processing, including employment law, policies and procedures, and payroll management. For those taking on payroll advisory roles. Investment: $1950. 10% off NFP’s.
For those with some experience needing a refresher, or just wanting training on one particular area, our 2 hour Payroll Master Classes focus on taking your skills further. These online modules include understanding the Holidays Act, leave processes, influencing managers, and payroll metrics. You can then either send through your questions for a Q&A with our team, or complete either a quick quiz or a full assignment to test out your knowledge.
For those moving into managing a Payroll team or function, or for those already in the role but wanting to develop your skills further, our Certificate in Payroll Leadership is a 10 month programme that focuses on payroll management, employment law, policies and procedures, team management and leading strategic initiatives. Investment: $1950. 10% off NFP’s.
